Who staffs the Youth Street Programs?

The Youth Street staff consists of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) volunteers, and volunteers from the community. Each volunteer goes through the working with minors protocol and is required to have a blue card. Youth Street staff are 18 years+ and are passionate about equipping and encouraging today’s youth.

Do the Youth Street staff have Blue Cards?

Yes! Every volunteer with Youth Street must not only have a current QLD blue card but also have gone through the Youth With a Mission working with minors protocol and a Youth Street staff training session.

Can I donate to Youth Street?

Yes! The purpose of Youth Street is not to make money but to help young people. Youth Street is run by YWAM, an organization made up of full-time volunteers. If you would like to donate to Youth Street (either financially or through gifts in kind) we would love to chat with you more. Please contact the Youth Street Coordinator for more information.

Can my child leave the program without my consent?

No! Once your child has been signed into the Youth Street program, the only way they are permitted to leave is through verbal or written consent from you or a legal guardian. Each week diligent staff operate the sign in/out gate, and we have a Youth Street mobile in service throughout the night for you to call us or your child to call you if there are any questions or concerns.

Are there scholarships available?

Yes! Youth Street has a scholarship program for our camps and Saturday program. If you are interested in applying for a Youth Street scholarship, please contact the Youth Street Coordinator with a completed scholarship application form and they will assist you further.

How long has Youth Street been running in Townsville?

Youth Street has been running in Townsville since July 2005 and over the course of the past 6 years, has been able to impact over 10,000 youth city-wide.

How is Youth Street connected to YWAM (Youth With A Mission)

Youth Street is a community development project that comes under the large umbrella of YWAM (Youth With A Mission). It is aimed at reaching young people (12 – 17yrs) and was created by YWAM to provide a safe place where young people feel valued and can learn to build healthy relationships while developing different skills such as skate, sport, dance, music, and art.

How can I get involved with Youth Street?

If you are interested in coming to Youth Street Teams or Live, please fill out a consent form and come to the YWAM Centre at 125 Ingham Road, West End at 2:00pm Saturdays.
